How to protect your Magazine Photo Booth

The line I’ll repeat from now until the end of time is: “Prevention is better than cure.”

So, let’s dive into how to protect your Magazine Photo Booth.

Believe it or not, your Magazine Photo Booth isn’t most at risk when it’s up at an event. It’s during transit and while moving it from the van to the venue or storage that it’s most susceptible to damage. So, how do you keep it safe during those crucial moments? Here are a few items you should be using:

Padded Blankets - If your Magazine Photo Booth isn’t assembled, wrap each piece in padded moving blankets as shown in the picture below. These durable blankets add an extra layer of protection, helping to prevent scratches, dents, and chips. Whether your booth is stored away or packed in the van for your next event, these blankets ensure your pieces aren’t rubbing against each other, saving you from unnecessary repair work.

Moving Bands - Moving bands will help keep those padded blankets in place. The last thing you want is for the blankets to slide down during transit, leaving your booth unprotected. Secure them properly with these bands, so they do their job.

Moving Straps - Having the right equipment is essential. Moving straps not only make it easier to lift and manoeuvre each piece, but they also allow you to keep the blankets on while moving. Cross the straps in an “X” shape underneath each piece, slip your forearms through the loops, and lift with ease.

Ratchet Straps - When loading your booth pieces into the van, secure them to the wall with ratchet straps (as pictured below). This prevents them from shifting during transit, which could cause damage. Without ratchet straps, even the weight of the pieces leaning against each other can result in scratches or worse. Every turn your van takes is a potential risk, so secure everything properly.

Moving Dolly - After unloading, a dolly can be your best friend—especially if you’re working in a large venue. Instead of carrying each piece with straps, a dolly will save you time and energy, allowing you to safely transport everything to the right location.

With all these tools, you won’t just prevent damage to your Magazine Photo Booth—you’ll save time and avoid unnecessary repairs. Remember, time is money, so don’t make work harder than it needs to be. Work smart, protect your booth, and keep your team headache-free.
